Beijing News (Reporter Chen Lin) Recently, the Beijing Municipal Market Supervision Bureau began piloting the city’s first integrated “online + offline” consumer complaint information disclosure mechanism in Dongcheng District, and at the same time established the “Consumer Rights Protection Workstation” of the Guijie Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This innovative measure marks an important step in the Chinese government’s efforts to create a consumer environment that is “safe, reliable, quality, affordable, accessible and rights protected.” Gui Street, the landmark of Beijing’s dining and nightlife economy, is home to more than 150 shops and carries an average daily passenger count of more than 10,000 people. In response to strong consumer feedback on issues such as “opaque rights protection channels and premature resolution ofdisputes”, the market supervision department innovatively launched a two-track parallel model of “online high coverage + offline accuracy”.
